365-306, 307 and 308 Harvest and Grand Baby!
Oh, boy what a weekend! For weeks, my dear friend and I, plus about 10 teens have been working on a skit for the Harvest Festival we do at church in place of Halloween. The church offers this as an alternative to trick or treating and as a way to minister to the neighborhood children and adults. The hope is to bring as many "unsaved" people to the church and tell them the gospel. There are games, face painting, candy and costumes. Last year, my friend Denise, wanted to do an outreach skit. We got a bunch of teens together and did this awesome skit. This year, she was asked to write one. She did an awesome job and came up with a skit to the song "Revelation Song" by Kari Job. I was her assistant and loved every minute of the weeks up to and the day of the skit. It takes a lot of work and preparation but in the end it is ALWAYS worth it! I love to see teens on fire for Jesus. These kids range in age from 15-18 and they all have a heart to serve Jesus and praise Him! It is such a contrast to how I lived out my teen years. Oh, if only I served Jesus then. Anyway, we did the skit 6 times on Sunday night and 2 times for the body during the morning services. Did I mention, that at 4:00 am on Sunday morning, I got a call that my daughter in love was in labor! Ahhh! What? I was supposed to be there during her delivery (in the waiting room-praying, because she is a very private momma) but I had to be at church ALL DAY!!! God is so gracious and worked it out that my sweet grandson came after morning services and before I had to be back at church. He loves me so much and loves every detail of my life. Oh, and He loves you too and cares about every detail of your life! Anyway, here are some pictures of the day and night. I know that many people trusted in Jesus that night and I know that many more seeds were planted. God is awesome! The icing on the cake is my sweet "grand boy." He is ADORABLE!!! If, I say so myself?!
Sons are a heritage from the Lord, children a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are sons born in one's youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their enemies in the gate. Psalm 127: 3-4
