P-52 Week 13 Details

project 52 p52 weekly photo challenge

This weeks challenge is "Details."  I had nothing! Nothing!
My girl came up with her beautiful picture of her kitty cat.  The details in his eyes.

My attempt was the details of our monopoly game that we were playing tonight.  I have to pay attention to the details or my kids will run me off the board! : )

A surprise in my backyard.  We moved into the new house in August of last year. I had no idea that these beauties were growing in the ground.  To our surprise we have these beautiful flowers to enjoy!
God is so good!

We visited one of the California missions.  There are 22 up the coast of California.  They are from around the 1700's.  The original purpose of the missions were for the Catholic Monks to teach the American Indians about Jesus.  Although, I am not Catholic, it was great to see the history and the architecture of the buildings.  Also, Jesus was portrayed in all the artwork.  Above is the story of the cross.
We would like to visit more.

Lately, I feel like we are on one continuous field trip!

These pictures are from our weekend in Seattle.  What a whirlwind trip but we had fun!  We got to spend some time with our oldest daughter and our grand kids.  Here are some pictures of Seattle.  The first is of the Space Needle.  The second is of my girlie girl with her niece (my grand baby) and the last is of my grandson and my girlie girl in front of the GUM WALL! YUCK!!! Literally, thousands of pieces of gum stuck to a wall.  It is funny but gross.  I have one of my girl sticking her piece on the wall.  This picture is funny because my grandson was warned not to touch it!  Umm... he was trying to freak me out by pretending he was going to touch it.  It worked but Praise Jesus he did not touch it!

It is funny that my girlie girl has nieces and nephews that are a few years younger than her but that is just how it worked out : )

Many Blessings,

P52-Week 11 "Eyes of March"

project 52 p52 weekly photo challenge

This weeks theme was the "Eyes of March."  I thought I would take a picture of my boy's beautiful green/blue eyes.  Well, as you can see I cropped the picture and narrowed it down to one.  If you look close you can see my reflection in his eyes.  So cool!

Oh my sweet little girl is growing up so fast!  This is a picture right after the beach.  My girlie girl has long, thick hair.  So, I was surprised to see those tiny curls when her hair was pulled back.  The humidity from the beach air brought them out.  I remember when she was younger and we would go to the beach her hair would do the same.  It has been a long time since I saw them though....

1000 Gifts and 366-69-72

What a lovely weekend we had.  We were able to head for the beach and enjoy the sunshine.  We had awesome weather, about 75 degrees.  Got to hang out with my great friend and her kiddos.  Then my boy and I went to a Christian Rock concert.  Yes, just my 16 year old and I.  No one else! Well, not counting the 5000 other people. It was a great night.  We saw about 10 groups including Tenth Ave. North, Hawk Nelson, Side Walk Prophets and Mercy Me.  It was a great time of singing and rocking out, but the most exciting part was hanging out with my boy.  I LOVE TO SEE HIM WORSHIP JESUS!  It does this mommy's heart so much good!

Counting the gifts....

1000 Gifts Plus 366-63-66

Counting gifts this week....
We have lived in our new area for almost 7 months.  I am finally getting my feet steady and feeling like I actually live here.  I am actually driving around a lot without map quest.  One of the great things about living somewhere new is new field trips!  Our family exhausted every field trip in our old town and now we have a whole new plethora of things to see and do in our new town (or not too far away).  On Friday, we went to a museum and saw the Terracotta Warriors from China.  It was amazing!  They are over 2000 years old!  The detail and the fact that they are still intact was stunning.  I bet you wish you had a picture... Me too!  The museum told us no pictures! Ugh! I hate that!  After going in, I realized they meant no flash! Ugh again....
Later, I was able to get some pictures of my kids outside of the museum and some beautiful flowers.

316.  Beautiful daughter thinks I am crazy when I take a big sniff of beautiful roses! I just laugh and smell the beauty.

317. A nice field trip....

318. Seeing some amazing artifacts...

319. Listening to my boy do a bible study over the phone and so thankful for his growth...

320. Friends over for dinner on Saturday night...

321. New coffee mugs from my new friend with roosters on them!

322. Great message in church Sunday....

323. Getting choked up reading God's word about Peter when he denied Christ.  So not wanting to ever be that way but knowing we all have the ability.

324. Seeing our older daughter this weekend...

325. Seeing her cute puppy...

326. Seeing my girlie girl show responsibility and taking care of the puppy... even at 6 am!

327. My boy went on another bike ride and coming home safe! Praise Jesus!

328. Time with family...

329. The sound of my kids playing piano...

330. So thankful to the Lord for His saving Grace and my new life in Him!

Many Blessings,

P52-9 Plus Great Leap 366-61 & 62

project 52 p52 weekly photo challenge

Okay, this one was hard... I had planned on having my kids jump in the air or something but I ran out of time.  So, I remembered that I took a bunch of pictures on Sunday at the zoo.  I downloaded them from my camera and found these... The first one is of a momma monkey letting her baby monkey climb the fence.  It is not the best picture but I thought it fit the theme. As mommas we have all been there, where we know we need to let them go but it is really hard to let them take the first step, spend the night at a friends, drive the car etc....The other one is of a water fall in the front of the zoo.  I guess it would look really cool if my kids were leaping of the side into a pool of water : )
