A Pretty Park

The day after Thanksgiving we went to a park close to our older son's house.
When my kids were little we would go to this park often.

It really doesn't fit the area.  A little oasis in the desert.

Thanksgiving Time

We had two Thanksgivings this year...
I cooked on Wednesday for a Friendsgiving and then we headed to our home town to be with my parents.
My step mom has been ill lately so she decided it would be fun to put up her trees early.
So we had Thanksgiving with Christmas Tress...

Fun Times With My Brother

My brother is a big kid at heart.
What a treasure he is and has been in our life.
He has taught me so many things...

one being to enjoy life.

And he does...

He enjoys so many things that we take for granted and  I am soo thankful for him!

December Is Here!

November flew by and I kept telling myself to blog but it never happened....
So here are some pictures that I finally edited.

They are from dress up and one of my sweet grandson's birthday at the end of October.

My sweet grand daughter dressed up as a fairy princess and my husband and grandson were racing on the track at a birthday party for my grandson : )

Fall Flowers

I told you in the last post that I have been traveling with my husband more since my girlie went off to college.
When I go to Seattle with him, I usually go to Pike's Market and I buy a beautiful bouquet of flowers.
Seattle has some beautiful flowers.

Here is my latest addition...

and the last photo is from the leaf I found last year...
We kept it...
Not sure why...
But why not?

Blessings,
Kim

Happy Birthday to my guy today!

Seattle in October

My husband has been flying to Seattle for business for about 5 years!  The job he has been over seeing will be wrapping up in 2018.

Now that girlie girl is off at college, I am able to go with him a lot more.
We have enjoyed the sights and sounds of the fun town.
And we have enjoyed spending the time together....

Kim

My Girlie at 18!

Before September is over I want to make sure I post about my girlie turning 18 at the end of August.
We had a sweet surprise birthday and going away party for her right before she left for college.
I have done the balloon picture every year with my two since they were babies.

I have often wondered why I continue to blog but now that 9 years have gone by since I started, I love to look back and see the posts and the things going on in our lives.
It is kind of like an online scrapbook.
So I continue....

Kim

Just a few More....

We have been very blessed this year...

Our family dynamics are changing...
My house is quiet,  most of the time now,
I wanted to do one more big vacation before the kids all flew the coop.

I know I say this frequently, but I was one blessed momma to be able to spend the time I did with my kids.
My husband has been a faithful provider for our family throughout the last 28 years and we had the same vision when it came to raising our children.
Blessed to be able to school them at home all those years
and blessed to be a stay at home mom.
I wouldn't trade those years for nothing!

Blessings,
Kim

Hawaii Continued....

The top pic is of us at a Luau...
And the last two were from a drive around the top part of Maui.
So beautiful but at some point the road got so narrow that we had to honk our horn as we rounded the corner.
Momma was not happy... : (
I am a bit of a nervous nelly...
but WOW! Look at those views...

Kim

Change in Seasons....

I will try not to cry as I type this....

Just like that, my baby girl is off to college.  I have a range of emotions, from excitement for her, to sadness for me.  Sad to see such a fun time come to an end.

I can honestly say, that parenting has been such a joy to me.  I have loved being a mommy and pretty much enjoying "most" seasons of these kids life.

I know it is not over, and it is not like I will never see her again, it is just different.  A change in seasons.

She is off to a small Christian school and I pray everyday that she clings to Jesus and that she makes good decisions.
After all, this is what we are to do.  Raise children up and send them out.  Sending them out is the hard part.

My girl is such a joy and full of energy, light and excitement.  The house will not be the same without her.  Her kitty cat is grieving right along with me.

After getting her set in her dorm, my hubs and I enjoyed a few days at a small beach house.
The grands joined us a couple of days later.
That was great time of distraction.

THEN I CAME HOME...
to a quiet house.

I have a ton of small projects to get me through and I keep my focus on Jesus.

The good news, is she is not that far away...
And I get to see her tomorrow for her birthday.

Blessings,
Kim
