These pictures are taken at Arlington Cemetery.  All the graves of men and women that fought for freedom for our country!  I am very thankful for their service!

The rock on top of the tomb stones is supposed to be a Jewish tradition in lieu of flowers. It is to let whomever comes to grave after know that it has been visited.  I looked it up when I got home.

I have been back from Washington for a couple of days but I have to get these last few pics out.  We had such a great vacation and we have learned so much.  What a great country we live in!  We need to remember to pray for our government leaders even if we did not vote for them.  When we went to visit the Capitol we were able to attend a session of congress.  It was cool to be in the room where so much activity happens.  What struck me the most when I looked at my senator from our state was the thought he is just a man!  He has great authority and power given to him by our Lord, but he is just a man.  I was so convicted that I don't pray for him at all.  That is now on my prayer list... to pray for our government leaders.

if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

These are some photos of the Vietnam War Memorial....
Very somber time.....
My girlie girl really has no idea what she is looking at...the full impact of all those names.  When I look at them I think about the mommas.  The average age of a soldier during the war was 19 years old.  That is only 3 years older than my boy.  It puts things in a entire different light.

Yes, it is Washington DC... several of you guessed it!  Great job!  We have had a great week.  First, we visited DC and then we headed to NYC.  It was a great trip and I will be blogging about it for a couple of days.
I edited this picture and then I re did it.  I like them both....not sure which one I like best.
