My husband had to go to California for business last week so I ended up going with him. Actually, there is more to the story but I will have to save that for later. While there we went to the Santa Monica Pier. It was packed with people! I mean, what do I expect, it is L.A. Notice all the girls in shorts. Yes, it was 75 degrees outside. I looked like a tourist because I had long pants on and long sleeve shirt. Oh, I was a tourist! :) Anyway, these shots are taken with my point and shoot so they are not the best.

We have been spinning our wheels over here for a long time.... one activity after the other....

I am so tired!

Unfortunately, when I get tired, I am not always the most loving, spirit filled, wife and mommy. Ugh! I hate that!
So, after no sleep again last night, I woke up and did my devotions. After spending some time in God's word, convicted, I might add, I decided to read "The Holy Experience." She is very deep and I feel like I am reading a devotional book when I read her. Anyway, at the bottom of the post is a quote from Amy Carmichael that cut deep to my marrow.

"If a sudden jar can cause me to speak an impatient unloving word, then I know nothing of Calvary love. For a cup brimful of sweet water cannot spill even one drop of bitter water, however suddenly jolted."

Ouch, that hurt! What I have been spilling over has not been "sweet water." I am often telling my children that there is no excuse for sin: ie: tired, hungry or sick... It seems as if the Lord is gently reminding me that there is no excuse for my sin as well.

I am so thankful that Jesus died for me on that cross at Calvary. I know when He was hanging there He was doing this for me 2000 years later. I am redeemed! I want to spill out His love when I am shaken.

Lord, please forgive me for unkind words that at times so easily spill out of me.

I have been missing lately......so now I am playing catch up on the pictures.
We went on a hike with the home school teens today. It was fun and a lot of exercise. The weather was perfect and the scenery was beautiful! Great day!

Spent the weekend in the mountains. I love to watch the birds. This shot was taken from inside the cabin looking out my kitchen window. This particular day a Blue Bird graced our presence. Pretty cool, huh?

I have had some questions in regards to how much snow we have received. Well, I live in the city (city girl) and we very rarely get snow. We actually live in the desert. Ugh! Anyway, we have a small place in the mountains where we "get away from it." This is where the snow shots come from. It is a ski resort, so hence lots of snow. It is measured in feet not inches. Snow is nice when you can stay a couple of days and then leave. I think I would be as big as the house if I lived in an area where we got a lot of snow all the time. :)
