I guess I am posting once a week.  It has been a crazy week and posting pictures or even taking pictures is the last thing on my mind.

School is almost out for summer for my girl.
She has one or two things left to do this next week. But, all her outside classes are complete.  Yay!
Softball is over! Yay! We can have a resemblance of a normal life now.  For a second anyway.

My boy came home yesterday.  School is out for him.  Yay!  We made it!  It was rough in the beginning but we, I mean "I' adjusted.  Glad to have him home for the summer.

It has been a hot one these last two days.  I am officially adjusted to the weather here, so when it bares any resemblance of the desert weather I lived in for years, I know it is hot.  And it has been.

But the biggest, saddest news is of my sweet friend Trish.  She is a young mom of 4 and has breast cancer.  It has now spread to several locations in her body.  I went out to see her this week. (she lives in my hometown). It was good to see her and she is so beautiful but... but is all I can say.  I am praying for a miracle.  Please join me in praying for her.  They need clarity of mind to know the next step for treatment.  Also, pray that Jesus would do a miracle in her life.
He really already has done many miracles.  She is a sold out believer and is Heaven bound.  Praise Jesus!!  She is amazingly praising Jesus through this entire process.
The one thing that really spoke to me this week when I was out there was the importance of telling people now how much they mean to you.
My friend was overwhelmed with love from her church family and kept saying "I can't believe how much I am loved!"  Let's remember to tell the people in our lives how much we love them.

And with that I am off....
counting my blessings one by one...

730. My family.
731. My friends.
732. My health.
733. The body of Christ in action.
734. Witnessing transformed lives.
735. Jesus.....

Kim

I am finally posting...
I think it is turning out to be a once a week post.

My girlie girl had Spring Formal this week.  She looked so beautiful and grown up.  I keep telling my hubby "how can this be?"  It seems like she should still be in diapers.  I know that is how I look at her sometime.  But she is not.  I digress.

Did I tell you how much my girl love softball?  Well, her team was in the playoffs over the weekend and it happened to be on the same night as formal.  What was she to do?  Formal started at 6:00 and game was at 7:00.  What any girl that loves her sport would do - leave formal, change into softball uniform, go to game and then go back to formal after game!  She was a trooper.  All smiles, even when they lost the game. Then lost last night and are now out of playoffs.   This really stinks for this team because they won the season but lost in the playoffs.  Ugh!  Heart breaker...
Character counts with this girl and she did not want to let her team down.

Many Blessings,
Kim

I am really having a hard time posting and keeping up with this blog.  I do love blogging but my days are so busy lately.

We held a "Ladies Tea" at my home on Sunday.  My friend ask if she could have the event at my home. It was to raise funds for a mission trip to Haiti.  This is not a trip I am going on but I sure do want to go.  But, I can help out at home this time by doing events like these.  It was very nice.  The ladies did a great job.  Fun afternoon.  Yummy food and fellowship was great.
The first two pictures and the last one are my girlie girls.   Have to give her credit.

Blessings,
Kim

Wow! What a week we had!  It went so fast.  So sad that it is over.  Although, it is always nice to be home.  And this trip is especially nice to be home because we had NO SHOWERS for an entire week!  Whoever says showers are overrated are completely out of their minds!  LOL!  Showers are stupendous!

Our week in Mexico!
So many things to say... I am in awe at the power of God again.
We had a team of about 70 teens and 15 adults.  We stayed at Caravan ministries outside of Tijuana. We were able to build 24 houses.  Now, just so you know the houses are more like  tool sheds in America.  Also, while we were there we visited orphanages and some teams went to a "bath house" where they washed kids feet, hair and painted the girls nails.  Some of the teens had to pick out the lice out of the kids hair before washing it.  I was able to visit an orphanage which I could have easily taken about 5 of the kids home with me.  But, one that would be illegal and two they don't place their children for adoption at these homes.

The money that was collected by all the team members before we left was used to purchase the building material for the houses.  The nationals had to supply the paint for the houses.  It was always exciting to see the color for their houses.  Colors we would never choose.  But, it was their home.
The faces of the kids and the families that we built the houses for will forever be etched on my heart.  These people were so grateful.  Just in case you are wondering, the gospel was shared with the families as a part of the process of applying for the houses.  Then we come in a build and show what "love" looks like by serving them and asking for nothing.
They did however feed us.  And let me tell you the food was yummy!  I love Mexican food anyway but this was for sure authentic.

I want to go back.  The Lord willing... He will open more doors for me to do trips like this one and now I have my heart set for Haiti.  Just hoping my hubby says yes!

Kim

Some pics from our neck of the woods...
The first shot my girlie took last week.  The other two were from a project that my girl was working on for her art history class.  She had to do a piece of "modern art".  This is what she came up with...
I like it..

Kim
